Waiters/Waitresses Job, Hotel Jobs 2021,
Nevada Palace Hotel is a modern high-end hotel situated at the heart of Meru Country, Mt. Kenya region that graces the famous Mount Kenya. It is strategically located near Meru CBD, Meru Stadium and Meru National Park. With a capacity of 116 executive rooms, mature gardens, restaurant and a bar.
We are looking for skilled Waiters and Waitresses to take orders and deliver food and beverages to our customers. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and escort customers to their tables
- Serve food and drink orders
- Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
- Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
- Inform customers about the day’s specials
- Offer menu recommendations upon request
- Take accurate food and drinks orders
- Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
- Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
- Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
- Follow all relevant health department regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to guests
Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate in hospitality management or similar field
- High school certificate plus 3 years’ experience can apply
- Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience
- Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system
- Attentiveness and patience for customers
- Excellent presentation skills
- Active listening and effective communication skills
- Flexibility to work in shifts
