We are offering an opportunity for a suitably qualified candidate who has the desire to learn and gain experience in a fast-paced environment as an intern in the field of Library and Information Science.

Reporting to the Senior Library Assistant; the intern will gain experience in:

• Library user’s registration in Koha;


• Stock taking;


• Re-shelving library material as needed;


• Shelves labeling;


• User training;


• Accessioning, classification & Cataloguing of library material;


• Bar-coding and Spine labeling & covering books.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Sciences or related field from a recognized tertiary institution (Must have successfully completed all course requirements and either graduated within the last 24 months or awaiting graduation)


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;


• Outstanding Classification and Cataloguing skills;


• Good Computing skills;


• Excellent Records management skills;


• A Team player with good interpersonal skills;


• Highly flexible.


• Team player who is eager to learn;


• Motivated and energetic.
