Vacancy Advertisement: Tutorial Fellow – Education Foundation

We are seeking to recruit a:

Tutorial Fellow – Education Foundation

(Job Ref: ZU/10/25/56/2022)

The purpose of this position to design, develop, plan and deliver a programme of teaching to students, in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully and enable the university to generate income; to develop, carry out and manage research projects to extend knowledge of the relevant subject area; to provide service to the community and the professions; to translate knowledge into practice; to write or publish books or other creative works and to offer clinical services as a senior consultant depending on the discipline.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Department the position holder will be responsible for the following, amongst others:

• To teach as a member of a teaching team within an established programme of study.


• Transferring knowledge including practical skills, methods and techniques.


• Supervising students during field trips, attachments, etc.


• Using a range of delivery techniques to inspire and engage students.


• Identifying learning needs of students and define appropriate learning objectives.


• Conducting individual and collaborative research projects.


• To write up research work for publication.


• Seeking practical application of research findings


• Serving in various committees to infuse professionalism in running of affairs.


• To lecture in the area of specialization in accordance with the syllabus.

Qualification Requirements

• A Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree qualification from a recognized/accredited university in the relevant field plus


• At least (3) years post qualification teaching experience; and or


• Registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral level qualification;


• Demonstrated potential for university teaching and research.


• Approved professional qualifications completed can be considered under special cases where the bachelor’s degree is not from a related field.

• Understanding of CUE, TIVETA and KNQA operations;


• Committed and able to go the extra mile.
