Job Description


Job Purpose/Mission 


The Zonal Trainer will be responsible for offer training in support of commercial sales and collection team capabilities in achieving key sales and collection goals as well as deputizing the zonal sales and collection manager to achieve sales and collection targets. On boarding of new sales agents, training of existing sales agents, they are expected to train and educate sales staff and area agent lead from the point of their initial hire and on a continuous, ongoing basis. They will be responsible for actively searching, training, evaluating, and implementing effective methods to educate and enhance staff and contractors learning and development needs within their zones. Training all departmental system procedures and policies, product knowledge, incentive structure and identifying any issues with training methods and make suggestions for improvements as needed. 


 Responsibilities 


 



  • Carry out capability enhancing trainings to the commercial team within the zone as well as championing the company values, missions and policies. 

  • Conduct and support customer education clinics within the zone. 

  • Conduct training sessions for new and current sales personnel and develop individualized training plans for underperforming salespersons through trade accompaniments. 

  • Develop new approaches and techniques for making improvements in training programs. 

  • Measure the performance of trainees after the session. 

  • Screen and recruit contractors that have a commercial and Credit (collection) Personality. 

  • Maintain and update records of training material and training sessions.

  • Schedule orientations and related training events for new individuals and teams within the zone. 

  • Stay updated with current market trends and the changing demands of the zone sales environment. 

  • Accompany the sales agents, collection agents and area agent lead in the sales and collection activities to ensure capability among the field team. 

  • Monitor and evaluate the training activities and effectiveness. Review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with zonal sales and collection managers, amend and revise programs as necessary, to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment. 

  • Deputize the zonal sales and collection manager in achieving the sales and collection targets of the zones. 

  • Working with tight deadlines and providing valuable input on projects to enhance and customize training processes to exceed operational needs. 

  • Diligently provide regular detailed status reports to your team while providing recommendations on corrective action if deliverables are in jeopardy. 


Knowledge and Skills 
 
Experience: 



  • 5 years’ experience within service subscription industry or Insurance or asset financing in training and building capability of a team. 

  • Sales Success Track record based on improving sales team capability. 

  • Experience in identifying sales gap within a sales team with corrective training plan. 

  • Loan Sales & Portfolio Management experience 

  • Computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. 

  • Good oral and written communication 

  • Experienced at multitasking under pressure against demands and deadlines, whilst always maintaining a positive and constructive attitude and demeanor 

  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality and maturity 

  • Flexible approach to working, able to pick up a variety of tasks/projects with minimal supervision. 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 


Qualifications: 



  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant field experience. 


 Language(s): 



  • English 

  • Kiswahili
