Legal & Compliance Officer Job, Legal Job Vacancies in Kenya 2021,

Our client a leading automotive company is currently looking to hire a Legal & Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities

• Review of all relevant statutory laws and regulation applicable to the Company and ensure compliance.


• Review existing policies and advise relevant personnel on those that require amendment, assist in drafting internal policies.


• Ensure that business activities are conducted in conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, Internal policies and procedures and best practices.


• Regular review and update of every operating unit’s Risk Register, Compliance check list and maintaining corrective and preventive action trackers.


• Serve as liaison with regulatory bodies, keep abreast with regulatory developments and industry initiatives and advise management accordingly.


• Inform the Internal Audit unit of any findings as regards non compliance that may require investigation.


• Maintenance and review of all documentation that has legal implications for the Company prior to signing and implementing.


• Negotiation, drafting and Implementation of the terms of agreement in all business contracts and agreements.


• Facilitate Governance and Compliance Board Meetings assist in setting up the agenda and taking minutes. Ensure follow-up with departmental heads as well as monitoring and tracking actions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law


• Minimum of 5 years working experience with at least 3 years compliance experience.


• Articulate, effective communication and writing skills, with the ability to communicate internally and externally with all stake holders at all levels.


• IT Knowledge -Excel, word and PowerPoint.


• Good knowledge of compliance regulatory requirements for listed companies.


• Good knowledge of the newly enacted Data protection Act.


• Ability to interpret and attention to detail.


• High level of determination and tenacity.
