Vacant Position: HR MANAGER

Reporting to: HR DIRECTOR

Job Summary: Our client in the automotive industry is looking to recruit for a HR Manager. The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for leading , providing advice and guidance on company policies and procedures ensuring they are implemented consistently throughout the organisation according to the employment laws of Kenya. Responsible for supporting the strategic management of the company and have accountability for the corporate culture and delivery of HR programs, services and initiatives.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead Support and build people leader to drive a performance- driven culture including coaching and counselling.


• Lead and develop HR strategies and recommendations in line with organization strategic thinking.


• Lead in the Implementation of HR Strategies including talent acquisition, staffing, reward programs, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, OSHA compliance, and labour relations.


• Lead talent management programs e.g. talent reviews, talent, succession & scenario planning and functional talent management interventions in liaison with the Talent & OD Manager.


• Develop HR operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions.


• Manage HR Operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counselling, discipline, planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing staff contribution and productivity.


• Champion the safety committee and ensure implementation of the OSHA Act 2007/Policy.


• Facilitate organizational (re)design including defining new/revised organizations and operating models, determining accountabilities and responsibilities, job descriptions and
  leading operational effectiveness processes and routines.


• Leverage networks and experience to bring new ideas and best practice to the fore as we design the future.


• Liase with finance to negotiate security contracts with security firms and liaise with departmental heads to ensure that the company’s security needs are met.


• Ensures that the company facilities/equipment are well maintained and annually inspected.

Qualifications and Qualities

• Bachelor’s Degree/Higher Diploma in HR Management.


• At least 8 years’ progressive HR experience working in a Multinational and at least 3-4 years in a strategic role is a requirement.


• Demonstrate practical experience of leading and Managing the human resources.


• Demonstrate Experience in leading a Cultural transformation embedding new ways of working.


• Relevant and practical experience in Employee Relations and Labour relations.


• Experience in implementing HR systems.


• High levels of integrity and transparency required.
