Job Title: Bakery Production Manager – Kisumu

Job Purpose:

The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects bakery production with a primary focus on the coordination of catering production, including recipe and menu development, new account development, major account follow-up, forecasting, preparation, and quality control.

Ideal candidate should have the ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure be people oriented, creative and has the ability to lead a team of workers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Drawing up of Production Schedule; Monitor day-to-day operations to ensure quality products are produced for our customers.


• Maintain effective relations with the Management team (Materials Management, Warehouse, Sanitation, and Maintenance)


• Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers


• Ensuring health and safety regulations are meet


• Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary


• Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment


• Planning and organising and production schedules


• Oversee planning and organization of production process and ensure availability of necessary materials, equipment and labour resources required.


• Design and implement plans for the effective use of materials and labour resource to achieve production target.


• Supervise and coordinating every stage of production to ensure manufacture of high quality and cost-effective products.


• Ensure production complies with established quality control specifications and standards.


• Analyse and provide solutions to production challenges or problems


• Monitor and control production process to adjust operation in event of a problem.


• Schedule maintenance of production machine and equipment to ensure efficient operations.


• Maintain health and safe environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with Health and Safety policies.


• Manage overall operations in production and is responsible for the effective management of labour, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the department.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• A Degree or Diploma in related field


• Must have at least 7 –10 years of experience as production manager


• Should possess excellent planning, negotiating, and organizing skills


• Ability to grasp complex concepts related to bakery production


• Should have proven experience managing bakery production.


• Experience in bakery production (more sore bread) will be advantageous.


• Understanding and knowledge of production.


• Excellent management skills and interpersonal communication


• Should have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
