A PP bags manufacturing company based in Thika is looking to fill in the below post.

General Shift Mechanic – able to maintain all machines-tapeline, stitching, looms, printing etc.

Salary: Gross of Kshs. 30,000/= negotiable depending on hands on training.

Duties

• Perform major and minor mechanical repairs.


• Conduct regular maintenance on machinery and systems.


• Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.


• Meet with operators and supervisors to better understand their concerns, identify the issue, and give well thought out solutions to the problems


• Examine machines and oversee operational tests to determine functionality problems.


• Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.


• Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.


• Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine operators and supervisors.


• Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements


• Service machines according to established preventive maintenance schedule.


• Maintain accurate, updated records of preventive maintenance


• Inspect machines, engines, motors, gears and moving parts etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.


• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.


• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner


• Clean and apply lubricants and maintain all fluid levels to machinery components depending on preventive in regular intervals.


• Do welding and other mechanical works as required for effective machine operation.


• Operate tools, equipment, and machinery and perform duties according to prescribed safety procedures.


• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.


• Keep workshop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition.


• Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service.


• Undertake other duties as assigned by your superiors.


• Maintain records of mechanical and repair work; and submit reports.


• Overseeing performance of all the machine operators and correct where necessary from time to time.
