Job Summary


Our client in the pharmaceutical industry seek to hire a competent HR Officer who will be tasked with the overall management of the HR Department handling staffing, training and development, performance monitoring, employee welfare and the overall management of the HR office environment.

Job Description/Requirements

Gross Salary: Ksh 50,000 – Ksh 80,000
Location: Nairobi

Key Responsibilities
•    Work with technology and approved vendors to implement and continue making efficient a robust HR management system
•    Drive a paperless culture within HR and support automation of key and frequently used HR processes
•    Prepare or maintain employment records related to HR activities both statutory and non-statutory such as recruitment, termination, leave, transfers, promotions, using human resources management system software and keeping hard copy files as well
•    Develop and maintain an efficient and effective filing system to support maintenance and management of accurate and required statutory and legal documents an records for all staff
•    Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations to staff as required
•    Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns and work with relevant leadership team members to coordinate disciplinary and grievance hearings
•    Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities.
•    Maintain and update human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms. Confer with management to develop implement and keep up to date relevant HR policies and  procedures
•    Conduct reference or background checks on job applicants
•    Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed
•    Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports
•    Evaluate recruitment and selection criteria to ensure conformance to professional, statistical, or testing standards, recommending revisions, as needed.
•    Maintain knowledge in the department, keeping it up to date with the latest training practices, trends, and technology
•    Model best practices in HR activities in order to ensure maintenance of top notch performance
•    Update job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
•    Ensure customer satisfaction by leading the collaborative development of service level agreements, adhering to those agreements and monitoring costs, quality and timeliness
•    Provide regular reporting on the performance of assigned roles weekly, monthly and as may be required
•    Any other duties as required by management.

Key Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related
•    Current HR Practitioner of Kenya certified by the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
•    At least 3 years of relevant generalist HR experience focused on HR Administration in a highly commercial medical or pharmaceutical environment.
•    Must be a Current Member of IHRM

•    Must be well conversant with the labour laws and ethical HR practices
•    Business awareness and management skill
•    Leadership skills
•    Organizational skills and the ability to understand detailed information
•    Interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels
•    Influencing and negotiating skills to implement personnel policies; potential to handle a leadership role
•    Integrity and approachability
