Job Summary
We seek to recruit an Import and Export Manager. The incumbent will manage the import and export processes of the Company and ensure compliance.
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor
- Experience Level: Management level
- Experience Length: 5 years
Job Description
- Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Transport and Logistics Management, Logistics & Chain Supply Management or any other relevant field, from a recognized institution, with a minimum 2 years’ experience in organizations dealing C&F, import/export or in cargo logistics businesses. A good Diploma in these fields with 5 years’ relevant experience would be considered.
- Knowledge of international trade procedures.
- Competence in customs procedures, interpretation and application of Customs tariff.
- Ability lodge customs entries declaration using Simba 2005 And ICMS.
- Ability to apply for import permits/documents using KENTRADENET System
- Competence in port / CFS, MIA & JKIA operational procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Personal drive and ability to respond to issues relating to the job efficiently.
- Strong communication skills.
- As the head of the Logistics Department, liaising with our overseas suppliers and forwarders regarding Pre- shipment Verification of Conformity (PVoC), dispatching and tracking of consignments from ports/ airports of loading.
- Preparing appropriate import and export documents using Kentradenet system.
- Handling port, airport and customs clearance of imports, and forwarding of exports.
- Arranging for transportation of goods from/to port and airports.
- Arranging for Customs and warehouse Bonds.
- Verification of customs, port and airport charges before payment.
