Senior Construction Manager Job, Current Engineering Jobs,

Our client in the Construction Industry is seeking to recruit a highly talented professional to fill in the following position for their various projects in Kenya:

SENIOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Reporting to the Operations Director, Senior Construction Manager will be responsible for planning construction projects and overseeing their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. The incumbent will also be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the projects.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs


• Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations


• Selecting tools, materials and equipment and tracking inventory


• Coordinating and directing construction workers and subcontractors


• Ensuring that contractual conditions of performance are met


• Preparing internal and external reports pertaining to job status


• Negotiating terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain required permits and licences


• Analysing, managing and mitigating risks


• Ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction related field


• A minimum of 10 years’ relevant working experience in Construction and Project Management


• Proficient in MS Project or similar software


• Knowledge in construction methodology and material pricing


• A professional qualification will be an added advantage


• Excellent report writing, presentation, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
