Afya Uwazi – USAID Health Supply Chain Third Party Monitoring (TPM) Activity


Job Title: Health Supply Chain Trainer


Job Location: Nairobi, Kenya


Kimetrica (www.kimetrica.com) seeks a qualified candidate for the full-time position of Health Supply Chain Trainer for Afya Uwazi, a USAID Health Supply Chain Third Party Monitoring (TPM) activity.


The Health Supply Chain Trainer will be responsible for training Spot Check Bookkeepers and Team Leaders on supply chain risk monitoring and accountability for Afya Uwazi, preparing the Team Leaders specifically to conduct regular supply chain spot-checks at health facilities across all 47 counties in Kenya and other stakeholders to adopt best practices based on evidence from random spot checks of the health supply chain.


The Health Supply Chain Trainer will develop and update manuals for capacity development on supply chain, at national, county and facility levels.


The Trainer will conduct regular trainings on supply chain integrity, based on a risk and control framework that is continuously updated based on data from field visits, in collaboration with other USAID implementing partners. In addition, the Trainer will provide ad hoc coaching and mentoring for supply chain officers during field visits.


This position will be based in Kenya in either Nairobi or a county that has a regional reach important to the TPM activity (such as Kisumu, Eldoret, Mombasa, etc.).


Candidates across Kenya are encouraged to apply regardless of location. The selected candidate will be required to travel to counties throughout Kenya 30-50% of the time.


Responsibilities:



  • Develop and update manuals for capacity development on supply chains at the national, county and health facility levels

  • Train Spot Check Team Leaders and Bookkeepers on how to spot common irregularities in health commodities supply chains

  • Conduct regular trainings on supply chain integrity at the national, county and health facility levels

  • Provide ad hoc coaching and mentoring for supply chain officers during field visits, based on irregularities or errors found on-site

  • Collaborate with other USAID-funded projects to identify common irregularities in health supply chain and address them through refresher and ad-hoc trainings

  • Support senior management to develop and update a risk and control framework based on known and emerging risk factors for the health supply chain

  • Advise on best practices on supply chain monitoring and accountability.


Qualifications and Skills:


Required:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, or related field

  • 7 years’ experience in training health staff and other cadres, preferably in supply chain management

  • 5 years’ experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management

  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Excel.

  • Ability to support colleagues and provide/receive constructive feedback

  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Kiswahili, as well as one or more local languages in Kenya.


Preferred:



  • Previous experience working in USAID-funded programs.

  • Certification in training, health supply chain management, M&E, risk management, or other relevant subjects.

  • Experience in a health related field.
