Job Description
VACANCY NO.: CDACC/8/4/2024
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
- Drafting legal opinions and reports on various issues affecting the Council.
- Undertaking legal audits to measure the Council’s level of compliance with various legal requirements.
- Drafting leases, agreements, and memorandums of understanding.
- Participating in the review of the Council’s policies to ensure that they are in line with relevant laws and Government Circulars.
- Obtaining information and evidence on legal matters involving the Council and preparing instructions to external lawyers.
- Representing the Council in court and other legal fora.
- Informing contractors to renew performance bonds and insurance.
Requirements for Appointment:
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution with a one (1) year experience.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law.
- An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid Practicing Certificate.
- A registered member of the Law Society of Kenya in good standing.
- Computer literacy.
- Demonstrated outstanding professional competence in legal work as reflected in work performance.
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
