Job Description
Job Vacancy: Legal & Human Resources Compliance Officer
Our client based in Nakuru a major player in the Agricultural Sector wishes to recruit a dynamic and result driven professional to blend with the existing team.
Reporting to the Manager Legal & Human Resources Compliance, the successful candidate will be responsible for provision of sound Legal Management, Industrial Relations and HR Consultancy to the Clients.
The key deliverables for the position include but not limited to:
- Representing members at the Employment & Labour Relation Court (ELRC) on labour matters
- Preparing memorandum of presentation, pleadings and legal advice
- Representing members before the Ministry of Labour and Tribunals in case of trade disputes or cases
- Tracking and timely update of members on changes in law affecting members
- Conducting Human Resource compliance audits in the member farms and give reports
- Advising employers in Labour related issues i.e. obligations and rights of employers
- Assisting members in resolving strike situations and initiating court processes as may be necessary to protect the member.
- Reviewing the organizations HR Policies and procedures ensuring that they meet the statutory requirements
- Supporting members in human resource management and organizational development
- Facilitating in trainings
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors of Law degree
- Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
- Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management
- Member of LSK and IHRM
- 3 years’ relevant experience
- Knowledge of labour laws
- Knowledge of ADR principles and methods
- Good written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS office and Web applications
- A valid driving licenses
