Job Vacancy: Logistics & Warehouse Manager (FMCG)

Location: Ngong road, Nairobi

Our client, a retail and distribution company, is hiring an experienced Logistics & Warehouse Manager to join their growing team.

Job Purpose: Responsible for the overall supply chain management with responsibilities including organizing and monitoring storage and distribution of goods.

The goal is to manage the entire order cycle so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Logistics

• Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services


• Direct, optimize and coordinate the full order cycle. Control the entire flow of work in respect to orders.


• Control the stocks both in the stores and retail outlets. Provide daily running values and reconciliations versus sales


• Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency


• Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments


• Resolve any arising problems or complaints


• Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees


• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets


• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements


• Comply with laws and regulations and ISO requirements

Warehouse

• Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision


• Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations to outlets and retail stores


• Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization


• Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures


• Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements. Ensure compliance of all goods – engage the inspection companies, KEBS, KRA,


• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security


• Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system


• Prepare annual budget


• Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies


• Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results


• Produce and submit reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc)


• Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided

Key Requirements

• Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager, Warehouse Manager


• Knowledge of clearing and forwarding


• Record of successful distribution and logistics management


• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices


• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives


• Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)


• Proficient in standard logistics software and hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.


• Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff


• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills


• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects


• Excellent communication skills


• BS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
