Job Title: Software Developer

Duty Station: Nairobi

Start date: Immediately

Length of contract: 05-monhts fixed term contract

A start- up mobile application company dealing with transaction data privacy is seeking a junior software developer.

The main role of the Software Developer is to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.

The duties and responsibilities include directing and participating in programming activities, monitoring, and evaluating system performance, designing, and implementing new programs.

Tasks & Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Research, design, implement, and manage software applications. Converting requirements into simple optimal
  solutions in alignment to the organizational strategic objectives and goals.


• Develop, test software functionality within the system and efficiently run software services.


• Evaluate, monitor, and track user feedback based on qualitative feedback received.


• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical problems that arise to ensure optimal software performance.


• Produce and maintain detailed design documentation with the Project team.


• Recommend changes to existing software infrastructure, providing workable solutions based on empirical
  analysis.


• Develop documentation to assist users and quality assurance procedures.


• Keep abreast of emerging trends in the field of software development and share key findings with the Project
  team.


• Participate and lead project team discussions on software architectural design and operations.

Qualifications and Education

• Degree in Computer Science or related field


• 2+ Years’ experience in user interface design, database structures, and statistical analyses.


• 2+ Years’ experience in Software development (full stack)

Essential Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Solid technical background with an in-depth understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.


• Deep knowledge and understanding of programming language.


• Analytical mindset with critical problem-solving skills.


• Proficiency communication skills- written and oral.


• Excellent organizational and time management skills


• Self- driven to continuously upskilling and remain abreast in software development trends.

Desirable

• Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment


• Languages: English and Kiswahili
