Job Description
Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for managing, directing and controlling all operations within a Cluster in MTO Compliance Management.
Key responsibilities of the job
- Lead the Teams under a Cluster in compliance management in monitoring, assessment collection and accounting of revenue.
- Assist in the formulation of strategic plans, policies, procedures and best practice and work closely with TSO head and policy unit in the formulation and implementation of the same.
- Guide the categorization of MTO taxpayers and provide recommendations on any adjustments.
- Foster strong working relationships with stakeholders for mutual benefit.
- Provide effective leadership to MTO Cluster teams in the head office and the regions.
- Monitor performance of the Cluster and initiate corrective action where necessary.
- Ensure the timely preparation and submission of reports (performance and compliance) and other required data.
- Day-to-day operations, supervision, management of performance and development of staff in the Cluster.
- Facilitate implementation of the work plans for the following compliance management
- Development and management of the Cluster work plans and budget.
- Drive initiatives to improve ethics, culture and facilitate change management in the cluster.
- Any other duties assigned by TSO head.
Professional/years of experience qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university.
- A Master’s Degree and/or professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Well trained/ experienced in the field of tax administration.
- Should have a good understanding of revenue statutes administered by the Kenya Revenue Authority.
- At least seven (7) years’ work experience in tax administration, with three (3) being at management level.
