Job Description
Our client is a registered company in Kenya that deals with the selling and after-sales service of IT Products and is looking to hire a competent Human Resource Officer who will effectively manage, coordinate, and administer all the human resources functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage recruitment and selection of staff in line with the company’s operational requirements and provide administrative support.
- Actively engaged and involved in employee performance and evaluation.
- Prepare and coordinate induction programs for newly recruited employees.
- Maintain an effective record management system for employees to ensure confidentiality of official records. Monitor absences and report on the same, for example, annual leave, sickness, off days etc.
- Communicate the general HR policies and procedures as well as legislation to line managers and staff and monitor HR related activities to ensure compliance.
- Monitor process and take charge of the implementation of changes in the terms of service and advice payroll, managers and staff as necessary.
- Ensure all employees are registered with NSSF, NHIF, and that proper records are maintained and reports are generated and submitted in compliance with statutory regulations.
- Respond to manager and employee enquiries on all routine HR administration matters and where necessary, consult with the Human Resources Manager.
- Counsel employees with social, disciplinary and performance issues and where necessary refer such employees to the HRM where necessary.
- Administration of staff benefits as per company policy and procedure.
- Co-ordinate training activities and liaise with participants and providers to ensure training programmes run as scheduled and adequate training equipment and materials are available.
- Prepare HR reports as required from time to time.
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Higher National Diploma in human resources management.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar post.
- Experience in Tracking Employee Performance.
- Knowledge of labour laws and employment acts.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Effective listening skills.
