Our client, a leading Nut Processor seeks to recruit a qualified, experienced, dynamic, self-driven individual for the position of Maintenance Supervisor

Job title: Maintenance Supervisor

Department: Production

Salary Range: Kshs 40,000 Gross

Reports to: Production Manager

Location: Thika, Kenya.

Number of Positions: One (1) Position

Placement: Immediate

Overall purpose of the Job: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance function of the engineering and plant equipment in order to obtain optimum efficiency in operations.

The Supervisor will also drive performance of the maintenance team and keep them motivated

Key Role Accountabilities

• Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.


• Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities


• Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads.


• Check electrical and hydraulic systems of the premises to ensure functionality.


• Allocate workload and supervise junior’s staff.


• Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary


• Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities.


• Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.


• Maintain all inventory and equipment, and ensure proper storage.


• Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site.


• Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work.


• Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.


• Establish strategies to meet workload demands on time.


• Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance.

Person Specification (Qualifications and Skills)

• Diploma in mechanical engineering, electrical maintenance or related field or facility management will be an advantage.


• 2 years’ of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor (essential).


• Strong knowledge on new machinery installation and cleaning procedures and maintenance.


• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.


• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.


• Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, electrical systems etc.


• Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment


• Fantastic organizational and leadership skills.


• Ability to keep track of and report on activities


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.


• Hands-on maintenance person with good planning skills


• Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related communication tools.


• Great time management skills.
