Job Vacancy: Technical Support Specialist

Kenya Builders & Concrete Co. Ltd (KBCLL) has been involved in the construction and building industry for over 50 years and has grown and developed into a major diversified industrial group with operations spanning in various business sectors.

KBCLL markets a wide range of aggregates and concrete products and provides a total solution to the customers’ needs.

Purpose: The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to the sales team by providing technical information and troubleshooting and resolving issues with customers.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

• Provide support to sales team in producing and assembling technical information, reports and maintain documentation;


• Assist with technical sales demos and consult with customers as a total solution is crafted for the customer


• Qualify technical issues and gather information about their scope, history, and details for escalation;


• Assist in coordinating proposals, requests for information and requests for proposals;


• Input data into the database, compile and review reports for quality and accuracy of content;


• Provide timely, professional, and accurate customer feedback;


• Communicate directly and professionally with customers to facilitate problem resolution via telephone, email, letter, on-site support, and answering technical questions, documenting customer suggestions and/or complaints;


• Communicate with all relevant departments and key personnel regarding information received from customers or the field;


• Complete the cycle of customer request/complaint, research and factory resource coordination, response to customer, management of resolution details and proactive follow-ups with clients to resolve issues;


• Maintains knowledge of new products, changes, advisories, and other product and customer information;


• Effectively executes and completes special assignments and projects as directed;

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related subjects.

Knowledge, Experience and Competencies

• At least four (4) years’ experience in a sales role in the manufacturing industry


• Experience in the selling of construction materials and engaging with architects, contractors, construction project managers, designers, QS etc.


• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks


• Ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers.


• Excellent technical and problem-solving skills


• Process oriented and can facilitate the use of systems


• Self-starter, high energy level with strong interpersonal and communication skills.


• Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and able to multi-task, prioritize, manage, and follow projects through to completion.


• High standards of integrity, ethics, and confidentiality
